Dr. Finger realized the advantages of micro-invasive biopsy for intraocular and orbital tumors. Borrowing aspiration-cutter technology from the retinal specialists, Dr. Finger created safe, effective methods of biopsy for choroidal, ciliary body, iris, and orbital tumors:
- For iris and ciliary body tumors, he calls his technique the “Finger Iridectomy Technique” or FIT.
- For choroidal tumors, it is called “Vitrectomy Retinotomy Aspiration Biopsy” or VRAB.
- For orbital tumors, it is FACT, the Finger Aspiration Cutter Technique.
