Dr. Finger’s intravitreal injection routine enables maximum efficacy for the anti-VEGF treatment. Dr. Finger himself introduced angled self-sealing needle punctures. The idea in doing this as opposed to the “straight-in” technique is to keep the drug from flowing out of the puncture because of high intraocular pressure. This is the method that saves vision in many patients who suffer from vision defects due to radiation retinopathy and optic neuropathy.
